Originally the goal was 5,000 shoes to send to orphans in Kenya. Then, we decided that not only did we want to send the shoes, but be the ones to personally deliver them. Then, we decided to make it even cooler by bringing teachers and high school students with us. OH – then we also decided to film a documentary to catch the stories on tape to share with our local community.
Now – it has begun! We have collected 7,772 shoes, have organized a MASSIVE shoeless walk-a-thon, and are currently working to collect the funds needed to ship the shoes.
I realize this is a rather short blog – but I believe the below video will tell you how much energy and fun this event is going to be. . . and this is just the beginning!
